Project Details
Application of Luminescence Dating Techniques in Geoarchaeological Studies (F02)
Subject Area
Physical Geography
Term
from 2009 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 57444011
The F2 project is responsible for dating various geo-archaeological sites and for improving luminescence dating techniques. In the 3rd phase of the CRC, project F2 will focus on extending and refining sediment chronologies and palaeoenvironmental records of cave and rock shelter deposits. This will be done also in concert with micromorphological studies that provide detailed analyses of the depositional context of sediments. Of particular interest are questions regarding post-depositional mixing of sediments, multiple- vs. single-grain dating, and overdispersion in single-grain luminescence dating.
