Final Report Abstract

Ziel des Projekts war die Identifikation und Aufklärung von molekularen Mechanismen der Regulation der Mitophagie in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Hierzu wurde erfolgreich die Durchführung eines genomweiten Screens und die Charakterisierung neuer identifizierter Faktoren durchgeführt. Es konnte erstmals ein Weg des selektiven Abbaus von Mitochondrien in der Bäckerhefe aufgezeigt werden, der dynamisch durch die Ubiquitinierung und Deubiquitinierung reguliert wird. Insgesamt konnte in diesem Projekt gezeigt werden, dass Saccharomyces cerevisiae ein sehr nützlicher Modellorganismus für die Analyse der Regulation der Ubiquitin-vermittelten Mitophagie und möglicher anderer Formen der selektiven Autophagie ist.
