Project Details
Effect of chronic heart failure on the bone marrow vascular niche (B06)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 75732319
The vascular niche in the bone marrow plays a crucial role in maintenance and regulation of bone marrow cell function. Since heart failure compromises bone marrow cell function, we plan to investigate the effect of heart failure on bone marrow cell composition and on the vascular niche using newly available high-dimensional flow cytometry and bioinformatic analyses to compare the composition of various hematopoietic and niche cell types in bone marrow samples from patients with ischemic heart failure and healthy controls. Newly identified dysregulated pathways will be further studied with respect to their causal involvement.
