The IRTG supports junior scientists with respect to the specific know-how that is necessary for performing cutting edge science, but also provides training and mentoring to support their personal development. Structured training is provided in the form of an introductory seminar, afternoon courses providing basic knowledge in vascular biology and cardiovascular disease, laboratory and clinical workshops and an annual summer school. Internal and external mentoring courses complements the training program aimed at supporting career development. By stimulating the interaction with visiting scientists and by supporting presentations at conferences and visits to external laboratories, the IRTG promotes the exposure of students to the national and international scientific communities.
