Project Details
Interaction of a single drop with a heated wall at high ambient pressures (C04)
Subject Area
Energy Process Engineering
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 84292822
In this project spray impact onto a hot substrate under elevated pressure conditions is investigated experimentally and modelled theoretically. Spray impact models will be developed for prediction of the main parameters of the secondary spray (drop diameter, velocity, and the splashed mass ratio) and for prediction of the heat flux densities during spray cooling at different thermodynamic regimes. Additionally, different smart surfaces will be examined for possible control of spray impact and spray cooling.
