Project Details
The novel arginine methyltransferase PRMT10 controls tumor growth and metastatic disease (B03)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987
The arginine methyltransferase PRMT10 - overexpressed in human tumors - is a novel target gene of the epigenetic modifier LSD1 - implicated in tumor growth and metastasis. The functions of PRMT10 will be unraveled by identifying target genes and characterizing their role in migration and invasion. By determining the 3D structure of PRMT10 the foundation for the design of chemical probes that inhibit PRMT10 activity will be laid. B3 represents one of the projects of the new focus “epigenetic processes in metastasis”
