Project Details
ErbB, Src and interactive signaling pathways in esophageal cancers (C05)
Subject Area
Anatomy and Physiology
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987
The applicants previously showed that invasion of non-neoplastic, esophageal epithelial cells is inducible by controlled activation of HER2 homo- or HER2/HER3 heterodimers, with Src-family signaling involvement. In the current project they plan to study how Src/SFK signaling influences cell migration and invasion and if there are cell intrinsic counter-regulatory mechanisms, such as the metastasis suppressor KAI1/CD82, to ErbB- and Src-associated signaling. In a second step, they will analyze the external effects of the tumor cell milieu on their invasive and metastatic potential, focusing on the Hippo pathway and YAP.
