Project Details
Interfacial chemistry and 3-D analysis of interfaces of implants and osteoporotic bone ((05) M05)
Subject Area
Physical Chemistry of Solids and Surfaces, Material Characterisation
Biomaterials
Biomaterials
Term
from 2010 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 107540325
Project M5 focuses on mass spectrometry imaging of bone, bone cells and the bone/biomaterial interface. The in funding period 2 initiated plasma functionalization of the inner surfaces of porous titanium alloys shall be completed. Alongside the investigation of the bone quality itself, drug detection and release from the biomaterial as well as dispersion within bone are important issues. Studies are carried out on samples from the T projects. In addition, model studies on bone cells concerning drug and biomaterial components uptake will be performed.
