Femtosecond laser pulse amplification system
Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
The specified femtosecond laser system has been the central piece of equipment for several research projects, primarily for two projects sponsored within DGF priority program SPP 1327 “Optisch erzeugte Sub-100nm Strukturen für biomedizinische und technische Applikationen”. The objective of the research is to develop a flexible laser based technology to produce structures below the classical optical diffraction limit - down to sub 100 nm with possible exemplary applications being biological cell surgery, high resolution hologram fabrication. A number of other smaller scale projects have been completed using the acquired laser. In collaboration with an industrial partner, characterization of optical filters to be used for eye safety goggles was performed. Proof-of-principles investigations of applicability of Bessel beams for ultrafast micromachining have been studied using internal funding. General studies on the ablation of bio compatible polymers with ultrafast laser beams have been partially performed with the system. The latter project is sponsored within the BMBF program “Medical Valley”. The laser system is expected to be extensively used in the future work within the ongoing DFG sponsored project as well as for other research.
