The project aims to synthesize, extend, revise, and improve the principal lexical reference works in Sanskrit, one of the world s richest culture-bearing languages, and to provide wide public access to them in an integrated digital library. The project correlates headwords in existing digitized major Sanskrit lexical reference works and extends them by digitizing additions and corrections, specialized dictionaries, indigenous Indian monolingual dictionaries, traditional thesauri, and traditional linguistic analyses. The project links lexical resources with digitized Sanskrit texts in a growing digital Sanskrit library and provides lemmatized search facilities.
