Project Details
Damage Analyses and Concepts for Damage-Tolerant Tunnel Linings (B02)
Subject Area
Structural Engineering, Building Informatics and Construction Operation
Term
from 2010 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 77309832
The goal of Subproject B2 is the model-based design of novel materials and concepts for damage tolerant tunnel linings for use in difficult geological conditions, characterized by large deformations. Segmented lining elements with integrated layers of designed compressible materials shall enable in combination with an also compressible gap grout to accommodate the expected large deformations without any structural damage. For this purpose, multi-scale models are developed to generate suitable designs for the material microstructure and for the structural components, respectively, which will be the basis for the experimental studies in Subprojects B1 and B3.
