Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse
This project had no scientific goal of its own but coordinated as Central Project Management Unit the different research activities and served as interface between the individual research projects, the administration body of the University of Göttingen as well as partners and institutions in Indonesia. Different administrative and legal norms did apply in both collaborating countries - Indonesia and Germany. Project Management Unit (PMU) was in charge of the organisation of research permits, support of fieldwork in the study region, facilitation of scientific exchange, management of scientific data and administration of the project website. These tasks were successfully carried out in close collaboration with the Centre for Tropical Forest Margins (CTFM) of Tadulako University in Palu and the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). We supported two habilitation projects, two postdoctoral projects, 8 PhD theses, 5 MSc theses and 2 BSc theses. It is also noteworthy that together with the CTFM office we have developed Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) covering major administrative issues, which is now also being applied by other cooperation partners of Tadulako University.
