Flow cytometry core unit (Z02)

The mission of the Flow Cytometry Core Unit is: 1) To provide the consortium with pure and homoge-neous stem cell or progenitor preparations of outstanding quality as starting material for all subse-quent experiments. 2) To develop innovative protocols for the preparation of stem or progenitor cells from organisms for which flow cytometry-technology has not yet been standardized (e.g. Hydra, Dro-sophila, Arabidopsis, Medaka). In the first funding period a high-end cell sorter was purchased by the University and the service provided by Z02 was used by many subprojects on a regular basis during the first two funding phases.
