Freiburg University establishes a publication fund to support its members in publishing open access articles. The initial funding provided by the German Research Foundation is used to create a reliable financing structure for publication fees. The fund reimburses fees for publications in original, peer-reviewed open access journals. Accompanying organizational, technical and legal¿ measures ensure that scientists are offered a sustainable as weil as an innovative service for making their research findings openly accessible.
