Project Details
Production and characterization of porous materials with tailored acoustic and mechanical properties (A04)
Subject Area
Mechanical Properties of Metallic Materials and their Microstructural Origins
Term
from 2011 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 133733460
A key objective of the CRC is the reduction of noise by means of porous materials. This project contributes to this by developing and characterizing porous materials with tailored acoustic and mechanical properties. The focus here is on porous aluminum with purposefully adapted pore structure via a new rolling process, additively manufactured materials, designed based on optimization results, and laser-structured films. Wind tunnel experiments will be performed in cooperation with TP A1, B3, and B5 to validate the proposed hypotheses.
