Project Details
Complexin and synaptotagmin in Ca2+-triggered exocytosis (A11)
Subject Area
Molecular Biology and Physiology of Neurons and Glial Cells
Term
from 2011 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 157660137
The project investigates the action of CpxII and its interplay with the major Ca2+ sensors Synaptotagmin I and VII in Ca2+-triggered exocytosis of chromaffin cells. Starting from the corresponding null mutants (single and double null mutants) and in the framework of detailed structure-function analysis, we aim to achieve this goal by using a combination of electrophysiological, biochemical, and fluorescence microscopic techniques (confocal/STED). Furthermore, we will study CpxII’s role in gliotransmission from astrocytes and will investigate its impact on integrative functions of hippocampal signaling.
