Project Details
Conditions for Star Formation in Nearby AGN and QSO Hosts (A02)
Subject Area
Astrophysics and Astronomy
Term
from 2011 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 184018867
We aim at understanding the conditions for star formation in active galaxies as well as the interplay between the active galactic nucleus (AGN) and the hosts of intermediate redshift (z < 0.1) systems to bridge the gap towards marginally resolved high redshift AGN hosts. The source sample reaches from the Center of the Milky Way to low-redshift active galaxies in the Hubble deep fields. We will make extensive use of the VLT and guaranteed observing time on the JWST and the LBT. The programmes will be in preparation for using the CCAT-prime telescope.
