Term

Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 198142367
The goal of the project is the realization of spin control of isolated manganese centers in semiconductors by means of spin orientation of photoexcited carriers and their exchange interaction with Mn ions. The experimental studies will be carried in bulk GaAs and low dimensional semiconductor structures doped with magnetic Mn acceptors of low concentration in the range from 1017 to 1019 cm-3. The variety of spin sensitive optical techniques will be used to uncover spatial and temporal spin dynamics of photoexcited carriers and Mn ions in the wide range of timescales from 1 ps to 1 ms. The results will provide important information on the spin relaxation mechanisms of isolated Mn centers. The role of electron localization and spatial separation between magnetic ions and photoexcited carriers for realization of Mn spin control will be determined.
