Project Details
Photoswitchable Nanostructures by Electrostatic Self-Assembly
Applicant
Professorin Dr. Franziska Gröhn
Subject Area
Preparatory and Physical Chemistry of Polymers
Term
from 2011 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 200206808
Goal of this project is the development of new photoswitchable assemblies based on the electrostatic self-assembly of photoacids and ionic spiropyrans with polyelectrolytes, as well the design of more complex multicomponent structures. Key is the physical-chemical investigation of the assembly formation and switching by a complementary study of structure and thermodynamics. A detailed elucidation – and thereby later choice – of the interaction parameters will enable a fundamental understanding of the photoswitching of electrostatically self-assembled particles and thus a targeted structure design.
