The vector correlation in three-atom continuum states will be investigated in complete experiments in order to analyze the energy-, state-, and isotope-dependence of non-adiabatic coupling in prototypical polyatomic molecules. The ionic molecules H3+ and O3+ as well as their neutral counterparts are the initial subjects of our study. In conjunction with theoretical studies carried out in collaborating groups these challenging experiments will help synthesize new and unifying guiding principles for a quantitative account of non-adiabatic interactions in many-body continuum states.
