At the 10-year followup the possible total sample comprised N = 477 families (N = 280 families from the DFG-study ZF I (HA 1400/14-1-6, mainly middle class) and N = 179 families from ZF II (funded by the Jacobs Foundation, Zürich; socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods of Braunschweig). The work schedule for the recruitment of the families was as follows: ZF I: 04/2012 - 12/2012; ZF II: 01/2013 - 06/2013. To conduct data analysis and prepare manuscripts six months from 08 - 12/2013 was scheduled. Due to recruitment problems the scheduled time lines could not be met.Till May, 31st 2013 we were able to interview N = 239 families from ZF I, eleven families will be interviewed in July/August 2013. Furthermore, we will try to identify the addresses from the remaining 30 families. The current recruitment rate is 89%. The recruitment for the families from ZF II started in December 2012. Unfortunately, identifying the addresses was far more difficult than for the ZF I-families. Many families moved several times, and some did not give notice to the registration office and the addresses had to be searched via different channels. Till May 31st , 2013 we were able to interview N = 80 families and N = 23 will be interviewed in July/August. The recruitment effort for the socially disadvantaged families is far higher as anticipated. We planned to interview N = 20 families per month, our current rate is N = 10. This situation will result in prolonging the recruitment phase till February, 28th, 2014. The costs will be covered by our current budget. However, to conduct the data analysis and the manuscript preparation, we request to prolong the study for six month from March 1st till August 31st, 2014.
