Supersymmetric left-right models: LHC-phenomenology, parameter determination and model discrimination

With the start of the LHC the exploration of the TeV scale has begun and new insights into the fundamental structure of matter, forces and space-time are expected. Moreover, it is expected that LHC will find new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. One of the best motivated extensions of the SM are supersymmetric models, which are based on a symmetry relating bosons and fermions. Current data suggests that any SM extension should have a special structure with respect to additional flavour sources and additional sources for CP-violation. This can be for example achieved in supersymmetric models based on the gauge group SU(2)L x SU(2)R x U(1)B-L. The central topic of this research proposal is the investigation of such models where the SU(2)R x U(1)B-L breaking occurs at the TeV ranges predicting additional states beyond the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. The first goal is to explore the phenomenology of these models at the LHC and to find signatures which can be used to pin down the underlying model. The second goal is to determine the underlying parameters by combining LHC data with data from complementary experiments and to perform coherent global data analyses. A public library of computer programs shall be created which can also be used by other collaborations for related investigations.
