Functional modeling aims at representing and analyzing physiological processes in the human body and thus helps to close the perception gap in the field of surgery. The project I03 develops customized, clinically relevant models and numerical methods, which are calibrated based on knowledge for their patient-specific application. In particular, optimal prosthetic configurations and the sensitivity of physiological dynamics are explored. Uncertainties in measurement data and models are addressed by methods of Uncertainty Quantification whose use for reliability statements of CoSA will be investigated.
