Annelies Kammenhuber published in 1975-1995 her voluminous "Hethitisches Wörterbuch, zweite völlig neu bearbeitete Auflage auf der Grundlage der edierten hethitischen Texte", vol. I (1975-1984): A; vol. II (1988): E; vol. III/1-2 (1991-1994) ha- bis hant- . It is based on Johannes Friedrich, Hethitisches Wörterbuch (1952, 1957-66), which included the Hittite lexicon known in his days and the Sumerograms and Akkadograms used. The dictionary of A. Kammenhuber has become a thesaurus of the Hittite language in depth and coverage. Since 1998 the project is funded again by the DFG. It is planned to reach the beginning of the Chicago Hittites Dictionary which started with letter L. This goal is to be achieved also by the cooperation of a number of various Hittitologists. The editorial board of the Hethitisches Wörterbuch now includes (in alphabetic order) P. Cotticelli-Kurras, F. Giusfredi, A. Hagenbuchner-Dresel, J. Hazenbos, W. Sallaberger; in the two fascicles which are now submitted for print we could still count on the experience and work of I. Hoffmann (¿). The responsible editors for the two new fascicles are J. Hazenbos (Lieferung 20) and A. Hagenbuchner-Dresel (Lieferung 21). In order to save printing costs, the two fascicles will be published in one book.
