Final Report Abstract
The heat transfer coefficient distribution under arrays of impinging jets, with and without removal of the spent fluid has been investigated. We used numerical and experimental methods to show that due to removal of the spent fluid the cross-flow effect can be minimized and unit cells can be created. Furthermore, an array structure “CN12” has been found, that allows for maximum homogeneity of the heat transfer coefficient at target plate. This system has been fully characterized for a wide range of Reynolds numbers and separation distances.
