Project Details
Reversible crosslink binding in cytoskeletal filament bundles and networks (A16)
Subject Area
Statistical Physics, Nonlinear Dynamics, Complex Systems, Soft and Fluid Matter, Biological Physics
Term
from 2012 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 178321814
This project deals with cytoskeletal structures and their mechanical and dynamic properties, in particular focusing on the process of reversible association of cytoskeletal filaments by either passive cross-linking proteins or active motor proteins. The goal is to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between crosslink/motor properties on one hand and filament/network properties on the other hand. An integrated simulation/theory approach is planned in close collaboration with the experimental systems of project A17 and A22.
