Since the 15th century more and more specialized books under the rubric rhetoric have been published in Germany. On the one hand, they deal with the general conditions of communication, on the other hand, they represent the first theory works in early mordern times concerning several pragmatic-prose text types. The aim of the project is to provide a resource for research, inter alia, for the research on early modern period of German studies, history and communication history, which is concerned with questions of the formation of communication processes and text processes in German language as well as corresponding norms. The academic access to these sources is up to now only fragmental. This field of text books is important for the history of early modern theoretical writing. It is aimed to be more improved upon, making it more practical, more efficient and more economical. It is targeted to gather all the publications on rhetoric in German language from the period of about 1450 to 1700 in a repertory, so that the prospective research will be able to work with this stock of sources well informed.
