The program is concerned with the unification of General Relativity with the principles of quantum physics, within the framework of loop quantum gravity. In recent years, we made considerable progress in this area. In particular, we were able to develop the Wilsonian renormalization group flow in the background-independent context of loop quantum gravity, as well as apply this with the help of new approximation methods, and receive numerical results. Building on these discoveries, in particular the non-Gaussian fixed point of the renormalization group flow, I will continue these investigations, and in particular answer the question, whether loop quantum gravity is renormalizable. Solving this issue will allow to make reliable numerical predictions within loop quantum gravity, that can be compared to experiments. This will present a new outlook on the nature of space-time, the big bang, and black holes.
