Project Details
Experimental determination of reaction kinetics for the release of chlorine and sulfur spe-cies and for the conversion of these species in the gas phase (A03)
Subject Area
Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering
Term
from 2013 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359
In subproject A3, models for the description of chlorine and sulfur chemistry in oxy-fuel combustion are extended to account for nitrogen and alkaline species. The formation of Cl, S and N bearing minor species as well as the interaction of alkali with Cl and S species can be predicted with these models. Related experimental investigations will be performed in an entrained flow reactor and by thermogravimetric analysis. The extractive measuring technique for highly reactive Cl and S species applying mass spectrometry utilized in the first funding period will be improved to enable the measurement of N-bearing minor species.
