Project Details
Experimental investigation of pulverised biomass combustion for validation of numerical models (C01)
Subject Area
Technical Thermodynamics
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359
Swirl-stabilised pulverised biomass flames are characterised for different oxy-fuel atmospheres and biomass fuels, first, over a power range of 40 to 180 kWth, completed by investigations at larger scale (1 MWth-facility of TU Darmstadt). Investigated quantities are measured with high spatial and temporal resolution, with special emphasis on the temporal variations in the flame characteristics. The results allow the identification of different phenomena and mechanisms occurring for different parameter settings, and at the different investigated scales, and are also used for validation purpos-es in simulation projects.
