Project Details
Modeling of radiative properties of pulverised biomass particles during oxy-fuel combustion (C04)
Subject Area
Technical Thermodynamics
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359
In project C4 the interaction between particles and thermal radiation for pulverized biomass com-bustion in an oxy-fuel atmosphere is investigated. In the last funding period, the highly non-spherical shapes, the hollow structures of biomass particles as well as different particle orientations will be modelled in detail. The existing model will be extended and validated by experimental data from the experiment established in FP2. With regard to high volatile content in biomass combustion, soot will also be included in the radiation model. For the use in the overall radiation model the detailed parti-cle model will be reduced to provide an efficient radiation model for OxySim-129.
