Project Details
Measurement of the radiative properties of solid fuel particles in oxy-fuel atmospheres (C05)
Subject Area
Technical Thermodynamics
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359
Radiative properties of burning char particles under oxy-fuel conditions will be measured. Biomass particle streaks will be burned in a laminar flow reactor to determine the directional scattering be-haviour of thermal radiation of burning char particles in oxy-fuel atmospheres. From these meas-urements the refractive index of burning char particles will be derived. Additionally, radiation probes will be developed and employed to gain experimental data on radiative heat fluxes in the larger re-actors of the CRC/TRR 129.
