Project Details
Epstein-Barr virus DNA acquires cellular chromatin early in infection (A13)
Subject Area
General Genetics and Functional Genome Biology
Term
from 2013 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 213249687
We shall study the epigenetic and molecular events in the pre-latent phase of viral infection, when Epstein-Barr virus reprograms the resting B-lymphocytes into activated and proliferating B blasts. The project aims at characterising the nature and principles of chromatin acquisition of epigenetically naïve, histone and nucleosome-free DNA in a tractable, highly reproducible mammalian cell model.
