A graphene based EPR entangler

An important ingredient for the realization of many quantum applications, such as quantum computing and quantum teleportation of information, is the achievement of entangled EPR (Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen) pairs. While this has been demonstrated in photon transmission experiments appropriate for use in information teleportation, a demonstration in the solid state would be a leap forward for computing applications. In this project, we aim to build a graphene based non-local EPR entangler based on injection a split Cooper pair into the graphene structure. By incorporating ferromagnetic detection leads into the device, we will be able to not only measure the charge correlation to prove the current flows from split Cooper pairs, but also measure the spin of the slowing electrons and therefore perform a test for true quantum entanglement.
