Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

To summarize, in our project we have not only reached most of the original goals outlined in the funding proposal, but also came up with novel discoveries and ideas that could not be foreseen initially. Most importantly, we have experimentally established that the magnetic field direction is an important parameter in neutron scattering that can be employed to considerably influence the magnetic phase diagram and the excitation spectrum even in cubic systems, where no considerable magnetic anisotropy is usually expected. This principle is nicely demonstrated by both systems, CeLaB6 and Ce3 Pd20 Si6 . The results obtained in this project also served as a justification for another follow-up grant. There a dedicated sample rotator for INS measurements in a rotating magnetic field in being developed. The feasibility of such measurements has been demonstrated.
