Project Details
Defining insulin targets in control of feeding-associated reward behaviour (A01)
Subject Area
Endocrinology, Diabetology, Metabolism
Term
from 2014 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 222193485
Based on our observations that insulin-dependent activation of MCH-expressing neurons, a heterogeneous population of cells engaging in distinct effector neurocircuits, in obesity contributes to the manifestation of impaired locomotor activity and insulin resistance, and that MCH-neurons project to tanycytes in the median eminence, we aim at deciphering the molecular basis of MCH-neuron heterogeneity and at delineating the functional consequences of MCH neurons acting on tanycytes.
