The DFG-funded system of “Specialised Information Services” (FID) aims at setting up cross-regional and demand-oriented information infrastructures for science. Within this framework, a competence centre for the licensing of electronic resources in the FID context (KfL) has been established in Göttingen, Berlin and Munich since 2014, which was positively evaluated by DFG in spring 2019. It is by now a central service provider for the FID and an active partner in the development and stabilisation of the FID system. The project activities concentrate on the continuation of the successful service operation for the negotiation and provision of FID licenses. One focus is on ensuring the permanent availability of data and content and the commitment to open access transformation. In addition, KfL supports the FID by standardizing licensing and the technical infrastructure as well as providing management tools. More recently, the portfolio was extended to include new, data-supported value-added services in the context of FID licensing.
