Within the subproject C6 the service life of sheet-bulk metal formed parts is to be examined under realistic conditions. Therefore in the third period a gearing test apparatus is to be used to account both inhomogeneous work hardened regions in the microstructure and the remaining residual stress state due to the forming process. Target for the subproject C6 in the third period is to expand the crack growth model in order to create a holistic fatigue life prediction, taking the residual stress state into account.
