Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2014 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 107745057
Project G8 uses thin-film technology and characterization and theory-guided exploration based on density functional theory and Boltzmann transport calculations to understand and optimize the thermoelectric performance of selected transition metal oxide thin films and superlattices. In particular, we will explore the influence of epitaxial strain and oxygen incorporation on the thermopower of model compounds. Further research will focus on the effect electrostatic doping, confinement and the crystallographic orientation.
