Half-metallic ferromagnets are very promising candidates for spintronic applications. Both families of Heusler compounds and double perovskites contain the vast majority of either known or predicted half-metals with high Curie temperatures and with rather large magnetic moments. Very important properties relevant for the application of these materials in spintronics are magneto-crystalline anisotropy and magnetic Gilbert damping. Therefore, the main goal of the present project is the investigation of magneto-crystalline anisotropy and Gilbert damping of the Heusler compounds (Co2FeSi, Co2FeAl0.5Si0.5, Mn3Ga) and double perovskites (Sr2FeMoO6, Sr2NiWO6) by means of high field magnetic torque detected electron spin resonance technique. The combination of the obtained results with the knowledge about the structural ordering received from the nuclear magnetic resonance measurements, which are performed in IFW Dresden, will enable us to conclude on the influence of structural and compositional properties on the dynamic and static magnetic properties of studied compounds. Therefore my project will provide a feedback for the design of new materials in the form of single crystals, devices, thin films with optimized properties for the application in spintronics.
