Project Details
Control of cell migration in response to injury by the cancer-associated adhesion molecule EpCAM (A07)
Subject Area
Nephrology
Term
from 2014 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987
The project will investigate how tubular epithelial cells override collective cell migration (CCM) programs to close a laser-induced injury in the zebrafish pronephros. Of particular interest in this project is the interplay between EpCAM, the CXCR12/CXCR4 signaling module, and the transcriptional regulators MYC and HIC1 in the repair response. Additionally A7 will study the roles of the EpCAM interacting proteins cmtm4 and cmtm6 in CCM and in response to injury, e.g. using transcriptomic approaches of single isolated cells during the migration-dependent repair process.
