Chemical diversity of nucleotides is important in context of new nucleic acid therapeutics. The aim of this project is, via increased chemical diversity of nucleoside monomers and aptamers using carbohydrate and lipid modified LNA (locked nucleic acids), to develop novel antivirals, anticancer agents, vaccines and gene silencing agents.
