Triple oxygen isotope composition of VSMOW, air O2, and mineral standards, and the fractionation during respiration
Applicant
Professor Dr. Andreas Pack
Subject Area

Term
from 2014 to 2016
Project identifier

It is the goal of this study to better use the D17O of fossilized tooth enamel as paleo-CO2-barometer. We will determine the d17O and d18O of air O2 and mineral standards directly relative to the VSMOW water reference. We will then determine the fractionation in d17O and d18O during respiration. Results will be important input parameters when applying the D17O of tooth enamel as pale-CO2-barometer.
