Secure communication between endpoints can be decomposed into a key exchange protocol and a subsequent channel protocol. The goal of the project is to harden these protocols against advanced attacks, both on the network layer and the end points. In particular, they shall withstand fault and quantum attacks. To this end, the project considers the usage of multiple, distributed communication paths on the one hand, and optical physical unclonable functions with quantum readouts for authentication, on the other.
