Label-free microscopic and nanoscopic imaging of atherosclerosis (Z01)

Project Z1 aims to support translational lead developments and their validation in the field of experimental atherosclerosis research under physiological conditions by offering a strong bio-imaging environment based on optical molecular imaging technologies. In addition to the benefits for cardiovascular science, the CRC environment will advance the novel technologies into new fields of experimental (and clinical) research and further expand (label-free) contrast- and imaging strategies. Beyond offering an imaging platform, Z1 will also investigate neuroimmune interactions in atherosclerosis, elucidate the true role of hematopoietic stem cells in atherosclerosis, and provide proof-of-principle examples for innovative imaging methodologies to the atherosclerotic research field.
