In project C02, we develop the conceptual framework of general relativistic geodesy. We generalize geodetic notions and redefine central ideas within the theory of General Relativity, which we then link to established definitions in the (post-)Newtonian limit. With regard to contemporary and future high-precision measurements, we analyse the description and decomposition of the relativistic gravitational field as well as relativistic effects on satellite orbits, signal propagation, and the redshift between clocks on Earth and in space. We investigate the novel concept of satellite swarms with clocks as a potential new data channel for combined gravity field solutions.
