Mass Directed Auto Purification System with DAD and ELSD detectors

Subject Area Molecular Chemistry
Term Funded in 2014
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 262446386

The instrument is required to support the research work of the Cox group and six other groups who will move into the new BMWZ building at the University of Hannover. The instrument is designed to enable the rapid purification of complex chemical and biological materials from complex backgrounds ready for structural elucidation and use in bioassays. The Cox group will perform genetic modification of microorganisms which biosynthesise biologically active natural products with the aim of making new compounds with new and potentially useful biological activities. Since these compounds will be produced in vivo they must be purified before testing and structural characterisation. The instrument will be operated on an 'open access' principle, administered by a pre-existing technician in the Cox Group.
