Project Details
Transport, excitations, and criticality in frustrated quantum magnets (A02)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 247310070
Using analytical and numerical methods, this project analyzes the elementary excitations of models for frustrated magnets of either conventional or fractionalized type, their contributions to thermal transport, their optical response, the effects of spin–lattice coupling, and their quantum critical properties, also in the presence of quenched disorder. Specifically, this involves the study of (i) thermal transport in doped quantum spin liquids, (ii) spin-phonon coupling and thermal Hall transport, (iii) optical spectroscopies of frustrated dimer magnets, (iv) quantum phase transitions out of spin liquids, and (v) fluctuation effects at field-driven transitions.
