In this subproject, the turbulence-wall interaction is investigated using direct numerical simulations. This in-cludes, on the one hand, the influence of surface roughness on heat and momentum transport due to deposits and, on the other hand, the investigation of near-wall heat, mass and momentum transport by a low-momentum mass flow from an active, permeable wall interacting with a turbulent impinging flow at variable angle. The knowledge gained and data sets generated in this process are used for model development for CFD calculations.
