Strain in Nanomembrane-based Battery Anodes

A novel design route for silicon based lithium ion battery anodes is proposed by using SiOx (x = 0-2) multilayer nanomembranes. Strains in the anodes will be observed and quantified in situ, which is critical in understanding the strain related bottleneck in anode performances. We aim to achieve an ultra-stable silicon based anode with high storage capacities.
